Biographical/Historical Note
Edgar Dorsey Taylor (1904-1978) was a painter, printmaker, and stained glass artist in California. He spent much of his early career in the San Francisco Bay area and participated in the Federal Art Project, Works Progress Administration. Later, he moved to Texas to teach at the University of Texas at Austin, ultimately returning to California to teach at the University of Southern California.
Provenance
The collection was loaned to the Archives of American Art for microfilming in 1964 by Edgar Dorsey Taylor and was returned after filming.
