Summary: The scattered papers of painter Dorothy Eisner measure 0.2 linear feet and date from circa 1936 to 1980. Found are biographical materials, correspondence, photographs, and printed material. The papers concern Eisner's donation of paintings to various institutions and her exhibition career.
Biographical/Historical Note
Dorothy Eisner (1906-1984) was a social realist and abstract painter in New York City, New York. She was active in many arts organizations and helped to found the Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors.
Provenance
Material on reel N69-80 was lent for microfilming 1969 and returned to the donor. Dorothy Eisner donated additional material to the Archives of American Art in 1980.

The Archives of American Art also holds microfilm of material lent for microfilming on Reel N69-80 including correspondence, exhibition catalogs and announcements, clippings, photographs, and a scrapbook. Loaned materials were returned to the donor and are not described in the collection container inventory.
