Series 1:Doris Kreindler papers, 1930-1975

Boxes 1-2

Biographical material includes resumes and membership records of various art related organizations. Correspondence is from artists, institutions, and galleries concerning Kreindler's artwork and exhibitions. Letters are from Hans Hofmann, Jacob Kainen, and Esther Robles, among others.
Writings include a lecture delivered by Kreindler at the Plainfield Art Association in 1957. Guest books are from five exhibitions held between 1957 and 1967 at Jacques Seligmann and Co. and the Pulitzer Gallery. Personal business records consist of sales and loan records, and price lists.
Exhibition announcements, catalogs and clippings concern Kreindler's art career. A mixed-media scrapbook also includes clippings and exhibition material, as well as correspondence, photographs of works of art and photos of Kreindler, an original print by Kreindler, and writings. Also found are additional scattered photographs of Kreindler and of her works of art, many of which are identified by title.
