REELS 2154 (fr.1-165) and 3448 (fr.215-248): A resume; correspondence; exhibition announcements, clippings, artwork, 1976-1980; photographs and slides of artwork, a handmade booklet of poems and illustrations by Ellis, and two books containing illustrations by Ellis.

REELS 2154 (fr. 166-184) and 3447-3448: Biographical data, an undated diary, poetry and notes, exhibition catalogs and announcements, 2 clippings and one magazine containing an article on Ellis, sketches, four photographs, and a file on Ellis' quilt sculpture project, including proposals, notes and sketches.

Biographical/Historical Note

Sculptor, painter, printmaker, writer; Austin, Texas. Studied at the Art Institute of Boston and the National Academy of Fine Arts, Mexico City. Ellis lived and worked in Mexico for ten years, moving to Austin in 1977. His work has been exhibited extensively in Mexico City. He was commissioned to create a work for the Dougherty Center Sculpture Project in Austin.
