Summary: The In Colors Oral History Project measures 15.90 gigabytes and dates from 2022 to 2024. The collection includes short biographies, digital sound recordings, and transcripts of interviews conducted by Fernanda Espinosa for the In Colors Oral History Project, a project supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Oral History Association. Narrators include Firelei Báez, Guadalupe Maravilla, Koyoltzintli Miranda-Rivadeneira, Carolina Caycedo, Kukuli Velarde, Laura Anderson Barbata, Lady Pink, and Cat Gardère. Also included is a Word Document containing short biographies of the interviewees.
Biographical/Historical Note
Fernanda Espinosa is an oral historian and cultural practitioner based in New York and the Ecuadorian Andes. Espinosa earned her MA in Oral History from Columbia University, where her thesis earned the Jeffrey H. Brodsky Oral History Award. Espinosa also holds a BA in Anthropology and in Latin American Literature. Since 2014, Espinosa has been working on oral histories, focusing on Latinx and Latin American voices in English and Spanish. Espinosa works independently, conducting projects at Columbia University, the Smithsonian Institution, and co-founded and collaboarated on the Circular Projects. Espinosa is also a member of the People's Collective Arts/Colectivo de Arte Popular and co-founded Cooperative Cultural 19 de enero (CC 1/19). Espinosa organized the In Colors Oral History Project and conducted the interviews as a National Endowment for the Humanities Oral History Association fellow.

The interviews are in Spanish and Castilian. The transcripts are in the original language of the interview with an English translation.
