This series contains eight 1/4" sound reels featuring interviews with seven individuals. Gallery director John Arthur discusses his work on the "America 1976" Bicentennial exhibit sponsored by the Deptartment of the Interior. Andrew Hyde discusses his work as former director of the Institute of Contemporary Art. Ken Moffett, curator of 20th-century art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, discusses an exhibition of Jules Olitki sculpture. Olitski describes his reactions to reviews of his work and the MFA, Boston exhibit. Theo Westenberger of Nielson Gallery, and Phyllis Rosen of Harcus/Krakow Gallery discuss the Newbury St. art scene. Carl Siembab discusses the cost of maintaining a gallery in Boston. The Arthur and Olitski interviews have transcripts that are filed with the original reels.

This series includes two 1/4" sound reels featuring lectures. An art critics panel held at Boston University is a discussion by critics Giuliano, Kenneth Baker, Carl Belz, and John Chandler regarding problems of art criticism in Boston. Also found is a recording made by Giuliano of a student's seminar report on the history of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston.
