Series 2: Correspondence , 1916-1988

Box 1

Correspondence consists of letters exchanged between Angarola, his wife Marie and their children; as well as letters from friends and colleagues, including Dewey Albinson, Belle Baranceanu, Albert Bloch, and George Seldes. There is some correspondence after 1939 which mostly consists of correspondence between Marie A. Johnson (formerly Angarola) with the Art Institute of Chicago and correspondence between Richard Angarola and George Seldes.
There are Christmas cards decorated with original prints from Albinson, Baranceanu, Leo Henkora, Alexander Kostellow, Karl Mattern, William Rosenbauer, Maynard Walker, and Dudley Crafts Watson scattered throughout the series.
The correspondence is arranged into the following groupings: chronological correspondence, family correspondence, and letters from Belle Baranceanu. Correspondence is arranged chronologically within each grouping.
