Summary: Business and personal letters to Pickens (1943-69), notes and other papers relating to his art instruction (1950-53), art exhibition announcements (1955-56), financial records (1949-56), and four leftist political magazines from the 1940's, one of which contains some of Pickens' sketches. In addition, there are a few photographs of unknown subjects.
Biographical/Historical Note
Alton Pickens (1917- 1991) was a painter, printmaker, and instructor. He taught art at Indiana University and Vassar College.
