3.9 Linear Feet
Boxes 7-11

Writings include poetry, lectures, essays, notes, and Bloch's translations of the writings of Austrian writer Karl Kraus. Some writings by Albert Bloch may have additional annotations by his wife Anna. A large portion of the writings consist of drafts of Bloch's collection of original poetry, published in 1947 as Ventures in Verse: Selected Pieces. Also found are private reminders, love notes, and hellos written on scraps of paper between Albert and Anna Bloch.
Writings by others include a few notebooks and loose notes by Anna Bloch, essays and lectures about Bloch's artwork, an essay by artist Franz Marc, and poetry by others. Also found are notes and research material regarding Karl Kraus, compiled by Michael Lazarus. Some of this material may have been annotated by Albert Bloch.
Writings by Albert Bloch are filed first, followed by writings by others filed alphabetically by author.
