Wednesday, Feb 1, 1888 Mercury at 0 again this morning. I went down town but there was no word from Sara. I got a note from Wilmurt saying Feb. 2 would be in good time to order my frames, but would not make it later. I shall go to N. Y. tomorrow whether Sara comes or not. I saw by the World that the law permitting auction sales of pictures after dark had passed the Senate and now goes to the governor. A sale of pictures for the Benevolent Fund of the Artists' Fund brought very low prices, but it was down town and in the day time. I am anxious about the result of my sale, but must take the risk. Sara returned this evening from her visit to Janette and Emily where she went a week ago.
