Jervis McEntee Diaries: August 4, 1884

Monday, Aug 4, 1884 Today was the 57th Anniversary of the marriage of my father and mother. Willie McEntee went home by the 11 o'clock train. The President and party went down to Dinsmores to dine and returned this evening. We had showers this afternoon. Marion and I drove down to Ned Tomkins to make a call and get some strawberry plants. I am to go for the plants tomorrow to finish the bed which I planted Saturday and today. Calvert went to N. Y. by the Powell. I hoped the Turck affair would be concluded today but it has not been and I am still waiting.
