Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, March 25, 1890, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Tuesday, Mar 25, 1890 A threatening day with East wind and this evening it rains. I sent up to Mrs. Bottas and got Mr. B's notes on [C?] which however are substantially what I have. I mounted my Water Color of the "Swamp in winter["] on one of the stretchers which old Mr. Kelly brought yesterday but could not get to work on the picture until afternoon when I worked steadily the rest of the day and have nearly finished it. Spent the evening at Marys and when I came to my room it was raining gently and began to rain hard just as I reached here.
