Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 22, 1890, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Wednesday, Jan 22, 1890 The wind blew a hurricane this morning and has continued to blow all day and it is bitterly cold. Painted on my little winter but it does not please me. Went to Dr. Patchins as usual. I spent the evening at Marys and came to my room a little after 9. I feel more vigorous this bracing weather but so easily get out of breath. I am sore in my back, I presume from too vigorous rubbing yesterday at Dr. Patchins.
