Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 15, 1890, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Saturday, Feb 15, 1890 Bright and clear with a brisk N. W. wind. Lunched at the Century and have worked all day on my picture which begins to look as though it would prove successful. l ordered the frame today to be done in ten days. David Johnsons sale of 115 pictures brought about $18,000 with which in these times I think he ought to be well satisfied. Went to the Century but did not have a particularly good time.
