Jervis McEntee Diaries

Sunday November 10, 1889

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, November 10, 1889, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sunday, Nov 10, 1889 We did not have our breakfast until nearly 10 oclock. The morning was grey and misty. Bailey ordered his team and covered carriage about noon and he, his wife and younger daughter and I went for a long ride. We visited his farm on our return and saw his extensive arrangements for raising chickens about 200 of which he has at present. We reached his house near dark and dined and in the evening we had a walk up around the Park. His son is confined to the house with a lame knee from a fall from his house.
