Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, May 7, 1889, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, May 7, 1889 Another warm, smoky day. I planted some flower seeds. Tom and I took of [sic] the double windows and in the afternoon Sara and I covered one of the parlor chairs, with the material I brought from N. Y. to see the effect. We dined at 6 and I walked up to the station and came down to N. Y. with the 7.40 train.
