Sunday, May 5, 1889 I got left by the morning train and went back home. Calvert, Marion, Sedgwick and I went up to the Park and spent several hours there very pleasantly, came home to dinner and I went home by the six o'clock train arriving at the house a quarter before 9. Sara had telegraphed me to meet her tomorrow on the 11 oclock train to attend Mr. Giffords funeral a notice of whose death I had seen in the papers.
