Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 28, 1889, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Monday, Jan 28, 1889 I have been very busy, painting, running of errands, writing letters and arranging my things to pack. I have written a great many notes and received many and in fact there seems a thousand things to do at the last. This evening I called on the Churches to see if he was settled on the day but he is going to see about the route tomorrow. I am invited to dine at Mr. H. G. de Forests with them tomorrow. Miss Blodgett was there when I called, a very pleasant lady but tremendously tall. I came to my room about 9 to do a lot of things while I would not be interrupted.
