Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 31, 1888, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, Jan 31, 1888 Milder weather about 15 degrees. I went down town and mailed a letter to Sara but found none from her. Have made some measurements over at my house with reference to some alterations if we should go there to live. Am reading Violet le Duc's Story of [?] house. Went over to the slide and spent an hour and a half there this afternoon. There were very few there and I had two rides alone. The mercury was at 20 degrees and consequently not so good for speed.
