Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 29, 1888, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Sunday, Jan 29, 1888 Still cold but still and bright. We were in the house most of the day, except Bowyer who went skating. We walked down to John McEntees and called on him and on our way back met Sam Coykendall who had been up to call on us. Staid [?] and had a punch in the evening. Bowyer went home by the 7.45 train. Eastman painted on Woods portrait of Gertrude a little but wiped it all off to begin anew tomorrow.
