Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, March 13, 1887, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Sunday, Mar 13, 1887 A brilliant, mild day. I walked over to the toboggan slide on the top of the snow which is hard and compact. They only ceased using the slide a week ago last night. My father seemed to me today to look well and Sara said he did seem more so than for some days past. I made out a number of checks to pay off some small debts tomorrow and did many things which kept me busy most of the day.
