Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 16, 1884, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Saturday, Feb 16, 1884 Breakfasted in my room. Fuller came in and I arranged with him to do some papering etc. up at home for which I am to paint a small picture. Went home by the 3.40 train from 42nd St. Tom met me with a sleigh although the sleighing is nearly all gone. The ice has gone out of the creek but not out of the river. The ferry boat is running. Gussie and Gertrude came from the Cove today and Mary Gifford from Hudson. John and Nannie and Joanna came and spent the evening.
