Thursday, Feb 14, 1884 At least an agreeable change in the weather has occurred. Towards evening after a day of fog, violent showers and discomfort the temperature fell and the wind came from the N. W. Sara, Julia and Marion came over by invitation and breakfasted with me in my studio. Have worked a little on my Kaatskills in winter and shall send it to the Academy. In the afternoon Sara met Mr & Mrs. Ed. Tomkins at Macys and also Mrs T's sister and they all came around here for a little while. Sara and I called on Annie and Aunt Christina and I went from there to the club where I had a long talk with Perry and Bierstadt of Art Union affairs which are not in a prosperous condition.
