Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 2, 1883, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Friday, Feb 2, 1883 The frame came for my October. Painted on my Academy picture. Called at Fred Sawyers in the evening and got more encouraging word from Dr Sawyer who is likely to regain his sight. Went to the club and saw Thompson & Lang. Lang told me about Leutzes family. Trevor is in Savannah. Ida at Inwood degenerated, Trevor told him into a nobody, I suppose through misfortune. The younger daughter is married at Stuttgardt to a German nobleman and Mrs. Leutze is not likely to live more than a few months from last accounts. Eugene went over there last year and took his family to leave them for a year or two. Wrote to Geo. Hall in Rome.
