Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, May 3, 1882, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Wednesday, May 3, 1882 Painted on a small picture 9 x 15 I commenced a year or two ago. Geo. Coale called. He finds many changes here and I think life is growing serious to him as it is to me. Mary came in while he was here. The weather remains cool and I have had a fire all day. I dont want it any warmer. Called at Holts this evening but they were engaged. Went over to Eastmans. Saw Mrs. Johnson a little while. He was out. Came home and went to bed and slept well.
