Saturday, July 22, 1882 Left at 7 for the Judith basin. Stopped for river where there was very little water. Camped at Maddens ranch. They had a skull with an arrow head sticking in it. Killed a rattle snake on rocky ridge. McCabe returned to [?] Benton this morning with the team [?]
