Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, July 14, 1882, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Friday, July 14, 1882 My birth day. Left with Frank Munro to team the packs. Rained hard. Most miserable day. Staid at Grants, a half breed Depossie creek, last house on the frontier. Funny mixture of civilized and savage life. Dogs Indians etc. Met Will and Logan there with a spring wagon.
