Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday April 25, 1882

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, April 25, 1882, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, Apr 25, 1882 Painted on my Katahdin. Bowyer and Downing came and Bowyer gave me his note for $1400 to be given to Booth. Mrs. Ely Hewitt from Milwaukee called and I promised to send her my Autumn in Vermont for the exhibition and perhaps a small picture. Spent the evening at Marys too utterly wretched to go any where.
