Jervis McEntee Diaries
Saturday May 14, 1881
Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, May 14, 1881, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Saturday, May 14, 1881 Called on Miss Leggett but she was not in. Stopped at the Young Womans Christian Association to see if they could suggest something for Miss Ford. I thought the young woman who received me pert and disagreeable. The first question she asked "is she Protestant" did not encourage me. Came to my room and wrote a note to Miss Leggett. Went home by 4 oclock train, Marion going with me.< Previous Entry | Next Entry >
