Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, June 15, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Tuesday, June 15, 1880 Breakfasted at Vauxs. Mary & Marion went to Rondout yesterday. This is a rainy day. Went to the breakfast to Booth at 12 and did not get away until half past five [see newspaper clipping in June 19th entry]. Went to Eastman Johnsons in the evening after the breakfast and he and I called at Stedmans. They were getting ready to leave town tomorrow. Weir came down to the breakfast and he and I had a satisfactory talk but only for a short time.
