Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 13, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Tuesday, Jan 13, 1880 A wild snow storm today. Cleared in the afternoon. Worked all day on a new picture but with no great success. Booth did not come. If I could only get interested in a picture and could feel I was producing something I know I would feel better. Mary, Calvert, Julia and I spent the evening at the Thurbers. Mr & Mrs. Wheeler were there and Mrs. Wheelers sister Mrs. Howard.
