Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 4, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Wednesday, Feb 4, 1880 Went home by 8 a.m. train. Cold and the river full of ice. Ferry boat crossing regularly. Went to Kingston after dinner with my father and mother and completed the transfer of our mortgages to Booth, my fathers for $10,000, mine for $4,000 and took them to the clerks office to be filed and arranged with Girard about the insurance.
