Jervis McEntee Diaries

Saturday March 1, 1879

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Saturday, March 1, 1879, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Weir came in for a little while. Painted some on the little head but do not improve it. Went to the Century monthly meeting. A very good display of pictures. My "Clouds" seemed to be liked by the artists. Colman spoke to me about it as my best picture. A number of people spoke to me about it. Avery was near me several times. He has not seen me since Gertrude died and he avoided me. I was not sorry for he is one of those insincere persons I would rather not meet.
