Church called and Fitch also. He is to let me know tomorrow if we go on our excursion. Worked on Mrs. Wheelers little picture but am not pleased with it. Stretched my canvas and colored it for my picture 24 x 36. Attended the wedding of Hartley the sculptor to Inness' daughter and Inness' son to Miss Rowell Smith at the church 5[?] St. & Madison Av. The church was crowded with people among whom were many Artists. After dinner Calvert and I went to the Goethe Club to hear Higginson on "Literature in a republic" which was very enjoyable. It was at the Fifth Av. Hotel and Calvert introduced me to Higginson before the lecture and I had a little conversation with him. Have felt more cheerful and contented for a few days.
