Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Wednesday, June 19, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Worked all forenoon yesterday on the house and Gertrude and I took a ride in the afternoon after I came from Mr. Williams funeral. We went out beyond Glen Erie and came back by the upper road from Martins. Today worked all forenoon and in the afternoon wrote long letters to Lucy and to Mary making certain propositions with regard to assisting me to keep our property here. Mr. Wm. Hathenay, Hiram and Lucy called. The weather is perfect. Had a letter from Whittredge and one from Booth.
