Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday December 31, 1878

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, December 31, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Alice very ill with a high fever. I am very anxious about her. Little Annie Staples one of Gertrudes pages in Esther, to whom I sent a little Christmas present, gave me a pretty bouquet. Bowyer came by the evening train. I have been almost sick with my cold. I imprudently worked out of doors yesterday fixing a box to bank up the house and I caught more cold. Felt better toward evening. Received a letter from Laura and one from Church.
