Tuesday was election day. We had the first serious frost of the season that morning and since it has been very mild. Thursday we had a severe storm but yesterday was warm and in the evening when I went for a walk out toward the Alms House I saw magnificent effects opposite the sun. I have tried a sketch of one today but with indifferent success. This week I have been trying to work but I am very unhappy. I think I have some dyspepsia. I am greatly worried about the future. If I could work and be producing something I would feel better. I remember I was just so last fall. I worried myself nearly sick and I might have spared myself the whole of it. Gertrude wrote Mrs. Halleck a note regarding Mrs. Danly last week on information furnished by Julia Dillon. It has been misunderstood and has given Gertrude great trouble. She today wrote her an explanatory note. It is cold today and is snowing now (4. P.M.) We spent the evening at John McEntees last night very pleasantly.
