Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday August 14, 1877

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, August 14, 1877, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

John McEntee, Girard and I went fishing out at the Glasco bridge today and were caught in a violent thunder shower which wet us thoroughly. When we got home I learned that Gussie had telegraphed to Sara that Joe demanded immediate and careful attention and begging her to come on at once. The consequence was that she started for Hillsboro this afternoon by the Baldwin very greatly against her inclination. Rachel Carle arrived this evening.
