Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, June 30, 1874, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Tuesday, June 30, 1874- I commenced a little picture of Marion fishing this forenoon. Recd. a letter from a Mr. Coale of St. Louis wanting me to paint him a picture, a letter from the Secretary of the Louisville Exposition urging me to send something also a letter from Raniger of London sending me a detailed bill and asking me rather buffily to remit without delay. It has been a beautiful day and cool in the evening.
