Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Thursday, August 27, 1874, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Thursday, Aug 27, 1874- Miss Lee and her brother an episcopal minister called to see my pictures and sketches while Gertrude and Sara were out calling. The weather continues cool and quiet and comfortable. My father and mother are on their way home and are having the best weather for travelling. We had a letter from Mrs. Bachelder yesterday from Etretat inclosing one for Weir which I sent with a short note. Spent the evening at John McEntees to bid Miss Lee good bye who goes tomorrow by Wallkill Valley railway.
