Jervis McEntee Diaries

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Monday, December 15, 1873, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Monday, Dec 15, 1873- Painted the sky anew on my picture and in fact went all over it. I like it better. Recd a letter from Moore in which he tells me he will take only one of the pictures, the "Hudson" Mouth of the creek for $75. Wants one of the others if I will change it a little and wants me to paint something else. Pretty fussy and cautious, but I presume he has very little capital and wants what he can readily sell. I had a lovely walk out to the "Roatina". It has been a beautiful day and I spent the whole afternoon walking.
