Sketchbook and 85 loose sketches in ink, pencil, charcoal, and watercolor primarily depict anatomical studies, including male and female nudes, hand and foot studies, portraits, and a skeletal structure. Collection also contains developed character studies, including a mandolin player, a tradtionally dressed Scottish man, a sailor, a lower class boy with dog, and Native Americans. Other subjects include landscapes and a panoramic scene of imaginary sea creatures.
