Diary, Feb. 23, 1941-Feb. 11, 1943 in which Krehbiel discusseshis daily life and work both as an art professor in Chicago and at his summer painting school in Saugatuck. Krehbiel discusses his activities, such as going for walks at "the Ridge," where he frequently sketches and comments on the scenery. He also writes of his social life, mostly meeting friends and family. Mainly, Krehbiel deals with his work teaching at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and at the Chicago Art Institute's Summer School of Painting. He discusses the other faculty members, conversations with the president, Mr. Heald, and his students and classes. He recalls meetings and discussions with Mies van der Rohe. Towards the end of the diary, he writes of wanting to change his health habits.
