Diaries and account, 1875-1919 12 v.

Twelve diaries for 1875, 1905-1913 (ca. 1750 p.). The diaries contain short, at times illegible, entries recounting her activities during the day, including excursions and visits with friends and family. Beaux spends the warmer months at her summer home in Gloucester, Mass., and some winters in New York City, where she continues to engage in the same sorts of activities. She mentions working on her paintings, but only as part of her daily schedule. There are brief entries about a trip to Europe. Ocassionally, Beaux will type longer and more detailed entries regarding certain events, her feelings towards them, and the people involved. Microfilm roll 427, frames 1654 1715, and microfilm roll 428, frames 1 939.

Detailed, polished account of time spent in Malines, Belgium, to paint Cardinal Mercier, July 14-23, 1919 (6 p.). Beaux carefully describes the Cardinal in physical feature and dress, while recounting her sittings and two afternoon teas with him. They discuss the uniqueness of Americans as well as their similarities with the Belgians. She tells of her experiences when the Belgian King and Queen, along with the French premier and French generals, come to the convent at Malines to honor the Cardinal. Beaux writes of how the people of Belgium have recovered from World War I and their view of America. Microfilm roll 428, frames 952 957.
