Guide to Craft-related Collections in the Archives of American Art

This Guide to Craft-related Collections highlights hundreds of unique collections and interviews in the Archives of American Art.

The papers of craft artists and designers working in clay, fiber, metal, glass, wood, and mosaic can be found in the Archives' collections. The records of dealers, organizations, institutions and government programs pertaining to craft are also represented here.

The guide also provides access to an impressive quantity of Oral History Interviews with Craft Artists, which the Archives is continually adding to, thanks to the Nanette L. Laitman Documentation Project for Craft and Decorative Arts in America.

This guide was initially created by the Archives in 2001; it was revised and expanded in 2008 with support from the Terra Foundation for American Art.
