Curator Liza Kirwin has selected twenty-four portraits of artists taken by Chuck Rosenak for his research into folk artists for three books by him and his wife, Jan: Museum of American Folk Art Encyclopedia of Twentieth American Folk Art and Artists (New York: Abbeville, 1990); Contemporary American Folk Art: A Collector's Guide (New York: Abbeville, 1996); and The People Speak: Navajo Folk Art (Flagstaff, Arizona: Northland Publishing, 1994). The exhibition in AAA's New York office includes documentation from the Rosenak's files relating to each of these artists; see the Checklist for a list of the items on exhibit.
