Beatrice Wood Interview Excerpt (4:18 min:sec)

Ceramicist BEATRICE WOOD (1893-1998) was famous for her luster glazes. In this excerpt from an interview conducted by Paul J. Karlstrom at Wood's home in Ojai, California, she talks about how she "accidentally" became a potter. The interview was taped on March 2, 1992, the day before Wood's 99th birthday. She lived to be 105. The interview was funded by the Margery and Harry Kahn Philanthropic Fund of the Jewish Communal Fund of New York.
