Shinn (1876–1953) was part of “The Eight,” whose exhibit at the Macbeth Gallery in 1908 challenged the art establishment and is considered a landmark event in American art history. This personal account book lists the titles and prices of his works in the exhibition. He sold No.7, Girl in Blue to Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney (Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney), founder of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
