July 3 to September 13, 2002
Exhibited in the Archives’ New York Research Center
This exhibition celebrates fiber art in its myriad forms from hooked rugs and jute sculpture to wearable art and weaving. Through this selection of letters, writings, photographs, and oral history interviews from the collections of the Archives of American Art, we invite you to follow the threads of conversations and relationships that give meaning to fiber.
The exhibition was organized in concert with Six Continents of Quilts: The American Craft Museum Collection at the UBS Paine Webber Gallery in New York.
