Walter Pach Papers, 1883-1980
The papers of Walter Pach in the Archives of American Art were digitized in 2004 from 6 reels of microfilm. The papers have been scanned in their entirety, with the exception of Series 8: Selections from Walter Pach's Library, and total 4,539 images.
This collection dates from 1880-1980, and documents the life of painter, etcher, journalist, author, critic, exhibition organizer, and art dealer, Walter Pach. The papers include 5 linear feet of personal and family papers, extensive correspondence with noted artists and art world figures, handwritten and edited versions of manuscripts by Pach, a selection of drawings and prints, printed material, memoranda and notes, photographs, a scrapbook, and a guestbook, in addition to 12 linear feet of selections from Walter Pach's library.
